About us
Hello, we're Simon Nugent & Susanna Waters (aka Ted) of Strode Valley Organics.
In 2012 we bought 9 acres of pasture and woodland from a lovely local organic dairy farmer. Since then we have worked hard to transform the land into a thriving no-dig market garden and wildlife haven, and home for our family.

Our driving force is a passion to provide vibrant, nutritious organic food and medicinal herbs for our local customers while enhancing the ecology of our land.
Our first job was to convert the pasture into a no-dig market garden which, combined with our polytunnels, is the basis of our salad and veg production today.
We use organic, environmentally friendly farming techniques, including no-dig, to grow our produce.
With help from some fabulous volunteers we’ve planted over 700 trees across 2.5 acres to increase wildlife corridors around the farm and re-planted gaps in the 1 acre woodland.
Local biodiversity is of huge importance to us.
Other
habitants of the farm now include a plethora of barn owls, red kites, hobby’s, sparrow hawks, kestrels, dormice, voles, foxes (watch out chickens!), badgers, and a kingfisher, otter and eel have been seen in the river!
We cut our wildflower-filled fields every 2 years, and they hum through the summer with dragonflies, crickets, and butterflies.
